The villages of Tskaltubo Municipality will use upgraded and safe road

Rehabilitation works of 8 km section of Kutaisi (Choma)-Alpana-Mamisoni Pass secondary road are actively underway. The section to be rehabilitated passes through the following villages of Tskaltubo Municipality: Opurchkheti and Namokhvani. 
Rehabilitation of this section did not take place for more than 25 years, as a result of which asphalt concrete pavement was severely damaged and fragmented, with potholes on it. 
In order to solve the problem, rehabilitation project envisages: rehabilitation of the carriageway and 6 bridges. Also, repair works of existing reinforced concrete pipes and concrete support walls will be implemented. Gabions, ditches and drainage network will be arranged. Arrangement works of junctions with local roads, entrances to private yards, bus stops and enclosed bus stops, road encircling and horizontal marking will be carried out. Road signs will be installed. 
At this stage, arrangement works of artificial structures and gabions are underway. Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia Zurab Alavidze inspected ongoing works on site. 
It should be noted that rehabilitation of 10 km section of Kutaisi (Choma)-Alpana-Mamisoni Pass road was carried out and now rehabilitation of the following 8 km section of road is underway. 
The project is financed by the state budget and its cost is GEL 4 539 131. A total of 80 people are employed in the works. The project started in October 2016 and will be completed by the end of this year.
