The tourism infrastructure will be improved in the Old and the New Shuamta

Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, Nodar Javakhishvili, together with the first deputy Ilia Darchiashvili inspected tourism infrastructure rehabilitation works in the Old and the New Shuamta in Telavi municipality.

The Municipal Development Fund implements rehabilitation project by financial support of  the World Bank, within the frameworks of regional development project.

Information centers, souvenir shops, public toilets and access road have been arranged within the frameworks of the rehabilitation project. Also, over 200 meters deep borehole rehabilitation has been completed. The works began in 2015 and will end in December.

As a result of improved infrastructure projects  improved infrastructure  will create favorable conditions for tourism development. 60 people are employed on rehabilitation works, and most of them are local residents.
