Socio-economic development of regions, planned reforms and infrastructure projects were the topics of discussion at the meeting held at the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia. Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, Mrs. Maya Tskitishvili, Deputy Minister, Mr. Grigol Katsia and State Attorney-Governors attended the meeting.
Minister talked about the projects to be funded from the Fund for the Projects to be Implemented in the Regions of Georgia and highlighted that the reform is planned in this field, which will create more development opportunities for regions.
“It is important that you name the projects that you want to be implemented in a city or a village; what are the first needs in your regions. In order to achieve the best results and spend the funds purposefully, we should know what we are doing, why we are doing and what are the timeframes of projects. Consequently, while planning the budget we will be using the priorities submitted by you.” – Mrs. Maya Tskitishvili referred to State Attorney-Governors. Minister heard information on the situation and problematic issues in regions, and proposals from State Attorney-Governors.
The attendees also discussed the initiative of the Prime-Minister of Georgia, Mr. Giorgi Kvirikashvili on promotion of healthy life-style which requires improvement of related infrastructure and taking active steps in this regard.
