Provision of gas supply to the regions reviewed at MRDI

11 October 2018

The Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia (MRDI) reviewed today the issues pertaining to gasification of the regions throughout the country. In the lead of the working meeting was Vice Premier, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Maya Tskitishvili and in attendance were governors of all regions, Head of Regional Development Service of Governmental Administration Sozar Subari, Ministers of Economy, Environmental Protection and Agriculture, and heads of Gas Transportation Company and Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission. The MRDI acts as the coordinating entity between the governors, self-governmental entities and various Ministries. Today’s meeting was held within the referenced format. “The Gas Transportation Company provided us with the information on existing status of various objects and the works scheduled. It was clarified that in most cases the works are completed, however gas supply is not provided because of different causes, e.g. licensing at the Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission is under way or the property delivery undergoes associated procedures at the Ministry of Economy. Due to our involvement in above mentioned processes and coordination of the referenced organizations will accelerate these processes and gas supply will be provided to many villages” – Maya Tskitishvili stated. At today’s meeting held at the MRDI the talk concerned the amelioration issues too. Deputy Minister of Agriculture notified the attendants of the meeting and Governors of the current works and the ones scheduled in the regions.
