A project “Improving Infrastructure Quality through Better Planning Systems” is kicking off with the support of EU

Presentation of the project “Improving Infrastructure Quality through Better Planning Systems” implemented through the aid of the EU was held at Tbilisi Marriott Hotel.
First Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, Irakli Matkava talked about the significance and the need of the project.
The project aims at boosting capacities of the Government of Georgia in terms of selection and preparation of infrastructure projects which will support broadening of investment opportunities for the small and medium entrepreneurs and back balanced development of regions. In addition, the project also covers sharing of EU best practices in spatial planning with the agencies of central Government and selected local municipalities, as well as improving their skills in terms of preparation of investment programs and projects.
The two-year project fund totals EUR 1 500 000.
Head of Projects Division of the EU Delegation to Georgia, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Polish Ambassador to Georgia participated in the Conference.
